Curacao Kiteboarding is the first kiteboarding school on Curacao that was founded in 2007.
With an IKO level 2 certified instructor with over 10 years of experience you learn kiteboarding in a fun and safe way.
The eastern trade winds and average water temperature of 27 degrees makes Curacao a great place to learn kiteboarding.
If you come on holiday and don't want to bring your gear you can rent equipment if your level is equal to IKO level 3. Or you can just rent a board to save costs.
To participate in kiteboarding lessons you have to be a good open water swimmer, must be in good health condition and have a minimum age of 14 years old.
There are 3 programs to learn kiteboarding.
Level 1: Beginner, Level 2: Intermediate and Level 3: Independent.
These programs are according to IKO standards.
On average you need 4 lessons to learn the basics.
The main kite spot on Curacao is the St. Joris bay on the north east side of the island.
It has flat water and side shore winds what makes it perfect for all levels.
For experienced kiteboarders only there is also the deserted island Klein Curacao 15 miles east from Curacao that is only accessible by boat.
The wind is off shore so not for the inexperienced.
